"Virginia Wesleyan is the Institution to Watch"
Enrollment at 菠萝大人版约炮 is the highest it has been in its 58-year history, President Scott D. Miller told guests at his August 24 in the Jane P. Batten Student Center on campus. Overall headcount for the 2017-18 academic year reached 1,660, a five percent increase over the previous year.

"Our future is more promising today than at any time in memory," he said. "Virginia Wesleyan is the institution to watch, as within the next few years, we continue to make history."

Dr. Miller shared several initiatives and goals for the future and highlighted the University's accomplishments from the past year, including a new academic-based strategic plan; two national-niche programs-the award-winning Greer Environmental Sciences Center and the Batten Honors College; forthcoming completion of the Susan S. Goode Fine and Performing Arts Center (March 2019); strong early enrollment for the University's online programs and other offerings within University College; a new softball complex at TowneBank Park, the new Betty S. Rogers Track and Field Center, and numerous other improvements of campus athletic facilities; record fundraising as well as recognition of VWU this fall by the Association of Fundraising Professionals as Outstanding Non-Profit in Fundraising; and a strong intercollegiate athletic program highlighted by back-to-back, NCAA Division III national softball championships. Wonder Woman: A New Kind of Leader
Virginia Wesleyan's Center for the Study of Religious Freedom has released its fall 2018 publication of Understanding Religious Freedom, announcing a diverse calendar of events for the fall semester. The publication supports CSRF's vision of informing, transforming, and equipping individuals to be engaged leaders and citizens, as they increasingly understand why religious freedom is a basic human right of daily significance. Programming and partnerships for fall 2018 include a focus on women as agents of change. As such, Wonder Woman, a harbinger of a different kind of leader, visionary, and change agent, provides an apt symbol for this semester's events. More
